Fort McMurray suspect charged after assault and impaired driving

Wood Buffalo RCMP responded to an assault report at Rivers Casino in Fort McMurray on Sept. 17, 2026, and identified two victims, one with minor injuries. Police later stopped the same suspect on the Athabasca River Bridge, where the suspect failed a breath demand, refused to leave the vehicle and fled. RCMP found the suspect and vehicle at the suspect’s residence and made an arrest without further incident. The individual is scheduled to appear in Alberta Court of Justice in Fort McMurray on Nov. 4.
